Oil Painting Class
Instructor: Pamela Hiatt Artist Bio​

Beginner to Intermediate Level
Monday: May 19
9:30am - 12:30pm | $35*
*All supplies included (except brushes, see below).
​This class is designed for all levels of painters. If you are a beginner this workshop will cover the basic skills and techniques you need to begin. Pamela will help you put aside your fears and experience the joy of creating! If you have experience in painting but have never tried oils or want to get back to painting with oils....join us!
​
The first hour Pamela will demonstrate how to start an oil painting and different techniques. The next two hours you will work on your own painting from a still life. Still life will be simple so that you can complete your painting during class.
​
SUPPLIES INCLUDED IN REGISTRATION:
Paint, medium, palette, painting panel, brush clean up solvents and brushes to borrow.
IF YOU BRING YOUR OWN BRUSHES:
Please bring oil painting HOG BRISTLE brushes: Hog Bristle Filberts size #2, #4, #6
Soft brushes for acrylic or watercolor will not work.

Intermediate Workshop: Ink + Wash
Tuesdays, April 29, May, 6, 13
10am - 12noon | $85
Join our intermediate workshop with instructor, Carol Moorhead, where she will demonstrate ink and wash watercolor painting. Must be comfortable with color theory, color mixing, basic brush strokes, a good foundational knowledge of watercolor, and sketching.

Artists' Open Studio
Bring whatever project you are working on: painting, drawing, craft project, knitting etc.
​
Fee: $10 per open studio date.
No pre-registration required for regular open studio dates, just drop in! Pay at time of class by exact cash or check.

NOTE: Day of the week will change to Wednesdays starting June 4.

Held in Galena ARC Art Studio
Level: All levels are welcome—Beginner to Advanced!
This is a self-guided open studio where artists of all abilities and styles are welcome to come and share ideas, techniques, ask questions and just enjoy creating in the company of other artists. You can work at your own pace and gain knowledge from other's experiences and success. Must bring your own supplies.
